Most, if not all people have grievances, like things, circumstances they are not happy with. They tend to look for reasons/causes in environment and the "others" to take the suspicion from themselves and/or their own community. "We" are not (don't want to be) responsible.

That's also the reason why "we" tend to overlook and fail to appreciate the positve done by others, because deep down we realise that we should have done the same, but didn't.

Again the "golden rule" is neglected, though it is accepted as "good" to be followed by the "others".

When will we ever learn?!!

Have you ever noticed that when you exercise your arms, they get stronger?

I think complaining is the same way. The more someone does it, the easier it gets because those muscles are growing. And there is an ***-backward power that complainers have; like they are the ones that can change the world.

Just as an experiment, challenge yourself to be THE praiser for one week. Ask yourself "what is my favorite thing about this person?" and see if expressing it is empowering or if it makes you feel/seem weaker.

Live well

You are probably right. People do complain a lot. Sometimes it makes people feel better to vent their frustrations. Some complainers are hoping that listeners will agree with their concerns, comfort them and/or offer advice. Hope that helps.

I think they complain because they don't want to seem like a kiss-up all the time!
