Let x = number of games played.
Then 1775+(50+25)x = 2425 + 25x
1775 +75x = 2425 +25 x
75x - 25x =2425-1775
50x = 650
x = 13 games

social membership cost
y=1775+75x
golf membership cost
y=2425+25x

now you have a system
so 1775+75x=2425+25x
solve forx
-25x fom both sides
1775+50x=2425
-1775 from both
50x=650
div by 50
x=13
check it
if he play 13 times

the social mem will cost
1775+25(13)+50(13)=975+1775=2750

the golf meme will cost
2425+ 25(13)=2425+325=2750

so 13 times

turn them into equations.
1775 +75x
2425 +25x

as said before. But, make them = so
1775 + 75x = 2425 + 25x
1775 + 50x = 2425
50x = 24255 - 1775
50x = 650
x = 13 times

13 is right.

The social membership is $650 cheaper.
Playing golf as a social member is $50 more expensive.
If Steve plays 13 times, the extra $50 each time adds up to $650, so the social membership option cost him just as much as the golf membership option.
