Please use parenthesis and brackets in the correct places. Do you mean: [5a(2a+6)] * [4a(3+6a)]?

First: elimiante parenthesis > use distribution - multiply the outer term with the terms in parenthesis...

[5a(2a) + 5a(6)] * [4a(3) + 4a(6a)]

[10a^2 + 30a] * [12a + 24a^2]

(10a^2 + 30a)(12a + 24a^2)

Sec: use the foiling method....

(10a^2)(12a)+(10a^2)(24a^2)+(30a)(12a)+(30a)(24a^2)

120a^3 + 240a^4 + 360a^2 + 720a^3

Third: combine "like" terms...

120a^3 + 720a^3 + 240a^4 + 360a^2

840a^3 + 240a^4 + 360a^2

*The expression has to be written in alpha descending order...

240a^4 + 840a^3 + 360a^2
