we need more details,
your ages
how is the sibling favored, give us some examples.
Are you a good child, do you follow the rules and do your chores and homework and respect your parents.
There are a lot of factors that may cause a parent to favor one child over the other and it may also "seem" like they are favoring the other but the fact of the matter might just be that your sibling is easier to deal with and you are difficult (maybe).

Child Neglect

Neither. As the parent of an adopted child and one naturally of my own, I can tell you all parents give their children what they can, and it varies somewhat based on the child. To the extent it turns into something another person doesn't like, it's snooping in someone elses life. Consider that parenting is difficult, and offer the parent showing favor to one child, some help, perhaps suggest counseling. Don't accuse.

Well that is just your parent picking a favorite like you pick a favorite friend. Try to build up your relationship with your parents by showing them what you can do, show only good grades, and tell them about school, always voice your opinion

in order for it to be abuse or neglect, it would have to be confirmed by a third party, or every child would have there parents charged with abuse and neglect at least once a week

I say some of both. Neglecting the child can be emotional abuse.

thats called favoritism. when the parents favor a child over the other. or it could be that this child is more reckless so they give him/her more attention to make him/her be better. they dont worry much about the other siblilng because they may not be so troublesome. if this is you, talk to your parents and explain how you are feeling. it'll get better.

It is abuse if it is really bad. It can hurt a child mentally, and their for make him or her a bad student and child all together.

well if they don't hit or starve you then its not abuse or neglect --- what you need to do is try to show them who you are and tell them you need attention too-- if they don't respond, i would go to my local dcs and tell them whats going on -- its confidential and free -- if you feel really neglected or abused and not just left out - maybe this would be your best shot -- good luck

It's neither- it's favoritism. Unless say, they feed one while the other goes hungry or they clothe one while the other stays in rags.
