Some selfish greedy corporate executive would argue that it shouldn't. I think their argument goes something to the effect that America is a land that offers "Great Opportunity" and if those making minimum wages wished to make more, they should go out and get an education and work harder.
How the hell does the man at the top generate his income other than taking advantage of those at the bottom.
Problem seeing this:
Lee Scott, the C.E.O. of Wal~Mart, does very little. The lower level employees work day in and day out struggling to survive and it's through their hard work, Wal~Mart earns money. They are physically working to move product to the shelves , so customers can buy it.

No. Minimum wage is not a good idea to begin with. It amounts to a tax on small businesses.
It should not be indexed to inflation for two reasons: 1. raising the minimum wage compounds the problems from small business and for those on the lowest end of the wage scale.
2. the inflation index is a government figure and it is notoriously inaccurate. The data collected is for only certain items and does not count changes in efficiencies.

No, Minimum wage should be abolished, and instead tax credits or cash transfers should replace it for workers making below the poverty level for that local area. There less economic distortions by cash transfers to up to the proverty than paying minimum wage to match inflation. Raising minimum wage means the business owner has to let people go, or raise price to compensate for the raise, and the adminstrative costs to enforce the wage is more than woud be cash transfers policies that Scandivian countries praticed actually. Most times workers even if they did not get above a 10th grade education make above minimum wage.

Minimum wage is tied to inflation. That is the only hope of people who work for minimum wage getting a raise every decade or so.
IE: Cost of living raise.
