I am cleaning my trumpet and need to put something in the bore but I don't know where it is. I've also spent about half an hour trying to find it on the internet.

the bore of the trumpet is also known as the lead pipe. this is the pipe that you put your mouthpiece into. No, you do not need to take out your valves for this process. But, I do recommend that you re-oil your valves when you are finished.

If I'm guessing right, you've got a cleaning "snake" brush. The bore is usually referred to as the size of the lead tube. The larger the bore size, the more air you'll have to push through the horn, but with less resistance. A smaller bore size requires less air, but you encounter more resistance. So pretty much, the bore is just the lead tube (the tube with the hook on it for your pinky). Take out the main tuning slide and make sure the mouthpiece is out. Now you should have access to clean it.
