simple: don't WEAR them. why wear heels when they are hurting your feet? and it's not good for your feet either. just wait until you get old, it will get even WORSE.

Shell_lh has some great advice!! Most women either buy shoes too small or have expectations too great when it comes to heels.

I would recommend several things...

1.) Buy shoes in the late afternoon or evening after you've been on your feet all day. Our feet swell throughout the day and what felt great at 8AM will feel like a torture device by 8PM. This will ensure a PROPER FITTING SHOE which, after you adjust to the height, will feel GREAT!! (not to mention look great too!!)

2.) TRY BEFORE YOU BUY IF YOU CAN!!! Every Mfg. uses different lasts to mold their shoes. This make every mfg's product feel different. Some company's shoes will feel awesome while others will feel like crap from the start.

3.) When you go to buy shoes bring inserts WITH YOU and try the shoes on WITH THE INSERTS you plan to use. This will ensure the inserts will not make the shoes too small once they're in place. You've got to remember that anything you put in the toe-box will remove space for your toesies...IF the shoes are tight without inserts, they will be EXTREMELY TIGHT with them in...And then crush your toes. Also make sure the inserts fit the shoes as well. A 1" diameter pad will do no good in padding a 3" diameter place (the balls of feet...) Get insoles that can be trimmed to fit the shoes.

4.) HH's take time to adjust to. Most people can't simply buy a pair of 4-5" heels and walk like they've been in them forever. If you find a cute style you REALLY LIKE, grab them...They may not be there next season (or even next week!!) Just take them home and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!

5.) MOST IMPORTANTLY - DO NOT GO TOO HIGH TOO FAST!!! This will discourage you and possibly turn you off from heels FOREVER!! (And I don't want THAT to happen!!) If you buy a pair that feels too high for you, BE PATIENT and LEARN TO WEAR THEM!!

Mastering high heels is a great challenge for anyone, male or female. They change the way one's foot functions, the center of gravity of the body and the area used to support one's weight. All these factors add a challenge to every step. Even die-hard pros will tell you that they've slipped, fallen, hurt themselves or were unable to do something when wearing very high heels. Be patient and never give up!!

Once you get some time in HH's the balls of your feet will still get that 'burn' feeling occasionally but you will quickly build stamina to enable greater lengths of wearing. Maybe someday the shoe manufacturers will get a clue and include some real padding in the toe boxes of high heels to help this situation.

Happy Heeling!!

Better made high heel shoes can normally be more comfortable. If foam or gel inserts don't work try the Marks and Spencers 'step in to lycra' range for starters, they are more like wearing trainers. Give em a try then find a pair that looks fashionable lol. Also try high heel shoes with a small platform, some better makes will act as very good cushioning under the ball of your feet.

Good shoes shouldn't hurt you at all. You have to be willing to pay the financial price, but a good shoe is so worth it. Another thing you have to be willing to do is admit to the shoe size you REALLY are. No squeezing a 7 into a 6 1/2, you're the only one who knows and cares what size you're wearing anyway. Shoes designers are a bit like clothes designers, a size 6 in one designer could be another's 6 1/2, so spend time trying everything you like on in a couple sizes.
I wear 3 inch heels every day, and I'm on my feet most of the day, and no pain when I get home...

I find it really hard to wear heels, because im using to wearing flat shoes. I know they they are thinking of doing collagen injections into the balls of the feet, to reduce the pain. Im not sure what else you can try. Grin and bear it! I only wear heels if it is a necessity. Its so painful, i dont know people walk in those things.

no pain, no gain. Sometimes there is a price to looking hot.... and thats sore feet!!!! if the party feet are not working then maybe get slightly lower heels, or just make sure you treat your feet to a good cooling foot spa and massage after a night out.

if the party feet aren't working for you then i bet you've got osteo-arthritis of the big toe (a bunion)
its a terrible thing to have
you should look after your feet
try just lowering your heel hight slightly & buying tailor made shoes from shoetailor.com
also buy a foot straightener from your local betterware mag

You need to actually detox your feet ....

Give your feet a pamper and softening the bases with massage soak and feet care kit.

Sponged insoles may also be worth a thought!

Get a half size up. Sounds like you foot isn't supported correctly.
