The amount of songs depends on the file size of course, which could be anything ranging from 3.5 up to 7 meg.
A 1 GB player can hold about 250 songs.

depends on the lenght of the song's but my daughter has a 1gb in here phone and that hold's 180 songs which are all mp3 cd quility 3-4min tracks

about 250 songs if you don't put any pictures on them or not (if it holds pictures) and it also depends on how much space is left on it after the manufactures formatted it
