I never did, but everyone i know who has been on it did. You might want to think about an IUD. Its more effective then birth control, its inserted into you cervix (not painful) and stays for up to 5 yrs. It doesnt effect your fetility at all. You can have it taken out at any time if you want another baby and you just as fertile the day its taken out and the day it was put in. No waiting like you do with birth control. And the best part is that it sometimes stops your periods. I had mine put in 4 months ago and i havent had a period in 3 months. Its wonderful! No worries =) I would look into it.

Usually there is a bit of a eight gain (3-4 lbs), due to water retention so as soon as you stop the pill it will go away, very rarely one can gain a lot of weight while on the pill, in that case they should either stop or change their pill, my guess it's something else, maybe you gained some muscle from working out, how does your clothes fit?

Side-effects
When starting to take the Pill, the majority (about 60%) of women report no side effects at all, and the vast majority of those who do, have only minor effects. Some women report slight weight gain, although most studies show that the incidences of this are about 50% and as many women experience slight weight loss. Some women also notice changes in the intensity of sexual desire, vaginal discharge and menstrual flow.
Other possible side effects are: breakthrough bleeding, unusual build-up of the uterine lining, nausea, headaches, depression, vaginitis, urinary tract infection, changes in the breasts, changes in blood pressure, skin problems, skin improvements, and gum inflammation. The insert included with each pill packet usually has a more extensive list of recognized side effects.

I had the same thing. I gained around 4-5kgs from the pill I was taking, but then changed it and went back to my normal weight. The doctor said it was because of the strength of hormones in the pill I was taking. Talk to your doctor about an alternative and see what they say.

It's a well known fact...
About 40% of women who take birth-control pills will have side effects of one kind or another during the first three months of use. The vast majority of women have only minor, transient side effects. Some of these side effects are: light bleeding between menstrual periods, skipped periods, nausea, **weight change**, bloating, increase in vaginal infections. Although it is difficult to predict whether a woman will develop one of these minor problems, a problem can often be eliminated by changing to a different birth-control pill. A spotty darkening of the skin on the face may appear and may be permanent.

Everyone is different, but in general yes. It also depends on the level of hormones in the pill you are taking has. 10 lbs. is the average for weight gain.

No, it's not the pill. Quite often it's what or how we eat in America. Check the web, but Ortho did a very large study just a few years ago that showed women on the pill were weight neutral or lost, compared to women off the pill.
