I'll say Malone... He's bigger, stronger, led his team to the finals twice( & Barkley had the better guard, KJ was better then Stockton), been to the finals a total of 3(led twice & got led by Shaq once), and Malone was a better scorer(2nd all-time scoring leader).

ROUND MOUND OF REBOUND

You basically had the best answer to your own question, besides Kevin Johnson being better then the all time assist leader, John Stockton which just cant be. Look at the all time scoring record, is Barkley second in any category? Karl Malone was in the weight room more then anyone else in his era. Most players believed lifting weights threw off your shot, but it didnt seem to affect him. Without Michael Jordan and the Bulls, it's impossible to know how many titles Malone would have, but it would definatly be atleast one. I think it's unfair to even hold them close to each other. For validation look up NBA's 50 Greatest Players, check out the order. This list was voted on by those who know the game better then me or you ever could.

Barkley, to see play Barkley is more fun, and he has the desire to win. Malone post good number and dominates the board, but is boring. Look at Tim Duncan, he is a great player, but San Antonio is a boring team, and look like Tim Duncan is a boring player. I hear once Malone said, he plays basketball for the money and not for the love of the game, like Mcgrady said like few months ago, or something like that.

Charles Barkeleys 'prime' was a lot shorter than Karl Malones. I always thought Barkeley had more talent than Malone, but he never worked hard enough every season to stay in good enough shape to maximize that talent. I have to go with Karl Malone.

Key words: "at their prime"

It's a toss-up. I watched them both numerous times, and they both dominated.

WE WILL USE THE POWER RATING.
POWER RATING = POINTS + REBOUNDS + ASSISTS = PR

MALONE - 25 + 10.1 + 3.6 = 38.7
BARKLEY - 22.1 + 11.7 + 3.9 = 37.7

KARL HAS A SLIGHT EDGE.
