You need to wait until your child is 1 year old and at least 20 pounds. The longer they are rear facing the better.

To the people who just give crap answers, you suck! This is the health and well being of someone's baby that you are putting in danger.

First off rear facing is best. Second if you're using a Graco Snugride, the weight limit is 22lbs and less than 29 inches tall, and is a rear facing ONLY seat.

Never turn a child seat around before 20lbs AND 1 year old. The best thing to do is to keep him/her rear facing until they reach the max weight & hight limit for your car seat to be in that position.

Also, on something SO IMPORTANT as your CHILD'S SAFETY, KEEP THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!! Its as simple as placing them in the glove box of your car!!!!

BOTH 20 lbs and 1 year old, spoke with our doctor about it this month. I can't wait until my baby is a year old so that he can be turned around, however it is safer to keep him in the rear facing for as long as possible.

when your child turns 5 months old. By that time they should be15-20 lbs. Just when u go to a baby store or target, walmart, etc check out all the forward facing seats to see at what pounds they start at. Compare with your baby's weight b-cuz 1-2 pounds should not matter. good Luck.

Never before 1 year old. Their necks are not strong enough to withstand whiplash from forward facing. They recommend staing rear facing as long as possible.

No baby should be turned around until they are one year old. Your doctor will tell you at your 1 year appointment if she's ready.

People will tell you all sorts of things...this happened to me too. So I asked my Dr. She told me not until they are a year old. The babies vertebrea aren't strong enough until they are a year old.

The child must be ***BOTH*** 12+ months old ***AND*** weigh 20+ lbs.

The longer you can keep them rear facing, the better, as it is safer.
