What kind of thermometer would I need to buy to measure liquids such as water, milk, and soup?
I have to do a science fair project and don't know if I need a specific kind.
Could you also let me know where I would be able to buy this kind of thermometer? Thanks to everyone in advance!

You used to be able to get alcohol thermometers everywhere. Maybe a brewing shop would do one (to check brewing temperature) or a pet shop (to check aquarium water temperature)

Technically any thermometer that can be immersed in liquids would be OK. Since you are dealing with edibles though, it should be one that is easily cleaned, and which does not contaminate the food.

Also it should have a range of temperature from above freezing to the boiling point of the liquids.

My choice would be an alcohol filled thermometer for the lower temperatures, and a candy thermometer for the higher ones.
