There are numerous factors and variables in answering this question. How many copies do you want; hardcover or soft; what do you want on the cover; quality of paper, type of binding, etc.
If you are doing this on your own, finding a decent vanity press and are looking at producing 1,000 "respectable" copies... plan on about $6,000 or more.
I'm guessing that you're looking at publishing this yourself, not asking what it costs to get in front of a publishing company and having them accept your work.

No. Not even CLOSE. If you're looking to be vanity-press published, than $1000 is all you're going to be spending.
But you'll just be wasting your money.
Self-publishing can range as high as $5000-$8000 (if you don't care about the money, but want to produce a quality-written novel.)
Traditional publishing takes on a whole new dimension to the word 'expensive'. If you're that kind of publisher (even small press), expect to spend hundreds of thousands (even millions) of dollars getting the book done up.

Legitimate publishing (that is real publshing NOT vanity publishing which is a joke and which COSTS MONEY) is free (publisher pays you), however nearly impossible to get into. That is why the vanity on line sites and others proliferate.

If the book is good, the publisher pays you. You don't pay! If someone asks you to pay, either it's a vanity press where you publish your own, or it's a scam!
