Some of you know NOTHING of care required. Your money could have been spent better on something not alive. Then, you depend on a computer for advice. Think about getting rid of the "problem" you have to someone who really knows what's going on.

Most of the people that wrote on this question, were indeed people that love their pets and take very good care of them. The ones that you don't hear from are the ones that don't take care of their pets. Some people felt this person was a bit hasty with her/his question without knowing why the person came off the way they did. However, I do know what this person is saying. I would like to use a few examples of what this person is talking about.

This coming weekend, I am going to Southern California to pick up a horse that was not well cared for. It is an ex-race horse that had been abandoned and was found wandering the streets. I have to make a point to talk to a family about their herd of minature horses. Everyone of them are foundered. And I'm very certain that they love the horses, but they have gone beyond their means and cannot take care of them properly and if something isn't done soon, every single one of these horses will have to be put to sleep. About a month or so ago, a group of neighbourhood children found two baby guinea pigs abandoned up by a creek. They brought them to us. We did everything we possibly could to help them, but unfortunately they had lost so much weight and their immune systems were so low, they both died. Not long ago, a couple of female pitbulls were turned loose in the park. Someone put a tag on each of them. Hi. My name is so and so, I am homeless. I tried very hard to find those dogs a home, but no one wanted them. Where these dogs suppose to die in the park of starvation? I had to call the SPCA to have them picked up. SPCA was far better than letting them starve to death. About two years ago, I found a kitten in my back yard, probably 8 weeks at tops, that was seeking shelter from a scary and wicked world. The kitten when I picked it up had a gash in it's back leg (it looked like it was from a dog) that was at least two inches long and at least a quarter if not more, inch deep. You could see bone in parts of it's leg. This same kitten was covered head to toe in fleas. Luckfully, I found a soft hearted person that took it in, had it's leg stitched up and gave it a home. This is not always the case. Many abandoned kittens I have to take to SPCA because I cannot find homes for them. And I don't like to have to do that.

I hope this makes it clear what the person was saying that wrote her/his question. It was a mere reminder that many of the animals are taken home by people that have no means to care for it when something happens.

I have never bought a pet without doing at least a month of research on the animal and the care required. I agree that if they don't know what they're doing, they shouldn't have one, but I don't see any harm in asking someone who knows a lot about the animal a question if you come upon something you didn't expect.

Because she looked at me with those big green eyes and said "take me home PLEASE", so i did.
My cat will be 10 years old this year and she has been the most amazing animal. I have had her since she was 5 weeks old and she is still my shadow. Sociable and loves my 1 year old baby. (I don't know why all he does is torment her), I don't think i will ever get such an amazing cat next time. she is a beauty.

Part of the education process of a responsible pet owner is asking people who do know about that animals care from experience or education. Don't be a troll.

Animals make you feel good when no one else is around. My animal was a birthday present and he means so much to me. He's sick right now so Ima little sad, but it always helps you to be independent and good because you're taking care of someone (something) else. And you learn how to take care of it just like you learn about any and everything eles. We werent created to ALREADY KNOW EVERYTHING! It does cost to maintain a pet. But they are a blessing to have*

Are you saying you know what is going on ?.. or maybe you know someone is not taking care of their pet.. call the SPCA and turn them in this isn't a forum for venting your rage unless you actually have a question.
