Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.

I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.

You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.

The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving and merciful God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

For each person there may be a different meaning. It really depends on who you are.

Death happens, as do births. War is a process of eliminating excess where there is not enough for what already exists. It is a wholly inefficient process, which never resolves the population problem.

There are natural disasters, and man made disasters. The universe may or not be in balance, what is clear is that wars which are fought are never won. The only winners are those that can find a solution where everyone has some meaning in their life, which may not be the same as your siblings.

The meaning of life, is living. Live when you are alive! Be dead when you have died.

i think for something to have a meaning, it had to have a beginning. if something always existed, then im sure you could see how it would be void of meaning, rather it just is. and i am a firm believer that consciousness (life) is as timeless as existence since they are basically one in the same, seen at a different angle, the angle of the observer or subjective reality. as far as that in relation to how the world is with war, famine, natural disasters... well, why shouldn't it be that way? war occurs because we are a semi unintelligent species that stumbled onto a few discovers of nature and are using it in the most primitive way. the hope is that we are still evolving into a more rational culture/collective mindset. eventually evolving to the point of rational thought where helping someone when you see them in need is a natural reaction without question if it is best for you to help them or not. in this scenario, natural disasters could occur, and if people help each other...it becomes not such a disaster. you can imagine if a hurricane destroyed a bunch of homes. if people actually helped each other with genuinely altruistic intentions, without the desire for publicity, money, etc... then the disaster would really not even seem like it happened at all. what would be remembered is the good will that was shared. this of course is idealized, but it is only idealized for this species, i honestly think once we evolve to a species with rational logical thinking and a better spiritual understanding, this kind of thing could be seen without much effort.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Yes, it does seem so meaningless. Even if there were no wars and things like that. We wake up and do the same things over and over day after day, and if we are happy it is so fleeting. Sometimes we don't even know we were happy until we become less happy. I guess there is some meaning, but I don't think we will be aware of what it was until we get over on the other side, wherever that it. Personally if I had to come back to this I don't think I would want to, and yet I am not a particularly unhappy or cynical person, it's just that it seems so meaningless and without purpose. One moment you are here and the next moment you are dead.

honestly, no one can know what the true meaning of life is, and in my attempt to avoid a stereotypical answer to your very sought out question, my belief is that our purpose is to live our life to the utmost fullest. live your life to mean something, make a difference, you were meant for something, there is one thing that you can do, say, create, etc. that no one else would think of. you could be the catalyst to change a nation, a city, or maybe just the mind of a very lonely child, nevertheless, you are important, and that is why you were created.

as to war, death and destruction, some people do not seek to better the world in their lifetime, they do not consider the possibilities of good that they could deliver through their own personal efforts. my theory is that they do not believe in their efforts strong enough to act in them. so as a result they turn to an easier method. evil. when will people understand that doing evil is SO much easier, yet doing good is so much more fulfilling?

men and women go to war, because they believe that IS their purpose, to defeat the evil and be the good in the physical form of a soldier. not everyones purpose is to do physical deeds, but theirs surely could be. i hope this has somewhat helped you, i really enjoyed talking about this topic, it has somewhat strengthened my faith in the world, suprisingly, thanks for asking it.

I believe the meaning of life is to love and to be loved... At least that's what I've learned when I fell in Love.
I know it seems this world is a cruel and cold place, but there are good things out there, too. This world is also beautiful. Nature, Art and Love are what always console me after I think about all the bad things that happen. And those three things are worth living and fighting for.

There have been wars going on since the first man on this planet was born. It is in man's genes to conquer and rule. Immigrants came to the USA to find peace and prosperity and were unaware that we have an undertaking of handling and quelling violence in our allied countries. Here in the USA people are fighting with others, some for no good reason. Those people have a mean streak. The law is there to protect us from the violence.

Life can be a property of matter. Matter that is alive, or life forms are organisms of a vast variety. Properties common to the known organisms found on Earth – plants, animals, fungi, protists, archaea and bacteria – are that they are carbon-and-water-based, are cellular with complex organization, undergo metabolism, possess a capacity to grow, respond to stimuli, reproduce and, through natural selection, adapt to their environment in succeeding generations.

An entity with the above properties is considered to be an organism. However, not every definition of life considers all of these properties to be essential. For example, the capacity for descent with modification is often taken as the only essential property of life. This definition notably includes viruses, which do not qualify under narrower definitions as they are acellular and do not metabolise. Broader definitions of life may also include theoretical non-carbon-based life and other alternative biology.

Although it cannot be pinpointed exactly, evidence suggests that life on Earth has existed for about 3.7 billion years.

The purpose of life is to enjoy. There is a need to raise life to its full dignity.

Using only 5-10% of the brain leaves mankind in a difficult situation. How to solve the problem on the level of the problem is a challange.

The truth is we are making progress. Less people are smoking and people are more conscious of improving their life through proper exercise and diet. People live longer. Education is more readily available.

Change is slow, but life is improving. When you see a rose, you can put your attention on the beautiful blossom or the thorns--the choice is yours.

I don't know the meaning; but I am trying to survive by being the kind of person I can be proud of and feel able to hold my head up. I also try to notice the beauty in nature, animals, babies, music.........the list goes on. Yes, reality is important. We can't blot out the bad in life (sometimes it makes the good seem even better than it seemed before); but, we all deserve happiness. Most of the time we have to work for it and look for it. It probably won't fall in our laps very often...........hope you find some peace and happiness in your life!
