I purchased a pair of diamond ear rings for my lady in the Philippines. What is the safest way to insure she receives them and not some postal inspector?

The safest way is to take them there and pin them on her ears yourself. But if you can't make the trip, use FedEx. But let me share you this story. A couple years ago I was staying in a southern province about an hour from any major city. I had a FedEx of some docs I needed sent and that nearest major city FedEx office just gave my stuff to some cousin of theirs to bring it to me...since the cousin was going that way. The cousin text me and I got the envelope but it had been opened. Fortunately I wasn't expecting any diamonds. Thats life in the Philippines. Expect the worst and you won't be disappointed.

Fed Ex or DHL would be the way to go but ensure you have insurance.
The only thing the mail system is reliable for is "if its of value it will get 'lost.'"
It was stated that "the ear rings may end up in the pawn shop" sadly this very true.
The pawn shop only gives a percentage of the gold value not the diamond value.

Fed-ex it.. its the only safe way and make sure you have insurance or have a track number to make sure it gets there. i hate to say it cause im filipino but the Philippine Post is the worst when it comes to packages.. Never.. ever send it via regular mail. m almost positive it'll get lost. i sent my family a letter via regular mail a few months ago.. nada! never got there.. its been 4 months and counting. so personally, i suggest Fed-ex or DHL.. anything that's reliable. good luck!

the safest way is to send it via Fedex or DHL. to be honest the mailing system of the Philippines can be sometimes inefficient when it comes to packages. the mail might never arrive to its destination. or if its valuables be stolen by the mail man themselves. so sad but it happens sometimes. (T_T)

Registered it with insurance so if this earring did not receive by your lady the insurance will pay back. You can use FEDEX too or DHL.

The only way to insure you package arrives safely and securely is to send it Fed Ex. http://www.fedex.com/us/

I hope your girlfriend and her family have plenty of their own money otherwise those diamond earrings are going straight to the pawn shop as soon as they run out of rice?
