I guess that they may need a few things like anyone else.
But they truly don't believe in mixing with the rest of the heathens on this planet.

What? "live in the regular world of living?"
Do you mean that amish live apart in communities built around the church and its members? That is not entirely different than most other people -- but the church - religion - is the centre of life to Amish people.
Why the curiosity and hostility on these boards towards such quiet and peaceful people? do we make you feel guilty about something?
People shop at Wal-Mart because the stores usually give good value. Naturally one would prefer to shop within the community, and support brethren who are working to care for their families. But that is not always possible - and that's what Wal-Mart is for.

because if you think about it not all Amish people live like their parents and grandparents did. I guess some just draw the line of how far they want to be like their Parents.Just like you and I we try to either do just as good as our mom and dad or we try to do better then our mom and dad.

Its not that they don't acknowledge the world as it is or want to reject it. They just want to minimize the detrimental aspects of todays society on their minds, families and bodies. They still shop etc. and accept the rest of us. It's just another way of living.
