How do you "prime" a car to start that has fuel injection?

You should never need to. If it's not starting then you have a problem that needs to be fixed. No work around.

If after changing the fuel filter, the only way to prime the fuel system is to turn the ignition key on to the start position but DO NOT START the car, do this a max of 3 times and this will fill the empty/new fuel filter, then turn key to crank/start engine and engine will start.
I changed a fuel filter today on a Renault Clio and followed the above and it started no problem.

If you ran it out of gas, just look for the little valve on the fuel line near the engine and let the air out while someone turns the key on and off a few times. The fuel pump runs for a second each time you turn the key on. Be ready for high pressure gas to start squirting out when the air is out. Have a nice thick cotton rag stuffed around and over the valve.

If your car run out of gas Bleed the injecters nepio line there a cap look on the injection line open it press it and someone have to crank the engine hold it down until gas shut out then stop close cap then engine will start.

having fuel injection, you should have to do nothing but turn the key to start it. i find that if that doesn't work when its cold outside, then press on the gas just so slightly and that always seems to work.

you dont it has an electronic fuel pump and fuel injectors for this when you turn the ignition on let the fuel pump pressurize the lines before starting the car

on some of them your have to bleed the air out of the system if they have been run dry. There is a shrader valve in the fuel line to facilitate this
