ive been craving a crabcake..i was wondering if its ok to eat them..im 23 weeks pregnant

yes. i believe its fish u have to avoid, because of mercury levels. crustaceans are different, they dont have as much mercury.

Shell Fish is not ok to eat. If you have to eat crab, buy some imitation crab, it is generally made out of pollock, which is a type of fish you can eat. My fav little snack right now is a bit of imitation crab and a nice glass of whole milk lol

There is just too much risk for a food borne illness with shellfish and raw fish. I feel for you with the cravings, I wanted sushi like none other and had to go without! This is just the beginning of mommy sacrifices, God's way of getting you ready for motherhood - LOL!

Go for it! The thing you need to watch out for are the "bottom feeders" they have a level of mercury that can be bad. It's okay as long as it's not all you're eating.

I just read that you can't eat shellfish! That includes crab, shrimp, lobster, anything with a hard outer shell! Hope this helps!
