The only thing that will keep the Marlins ahead of the Nationals is Dontrell Willis and their young pitching staff. They also have some improving young players, but to be competitive in today's sports world, you need a balanced team. I feel they also made a big mistake in getting rid of Joe Girardi as manager. He had the players giving their best and if he was hard to get along with, the GM should have adapted and cut Joe some slack. It will now be difficult to get this young team motivated. Most likely they will end up in fourth place, but if they can't gel with their new manager, they could end up dead last.

that does no longer sound life like to me. I heard Vizquel would retire yet both way, i do no longer see him extremely being starter fabric a lot anymore regardless of the actuality that I do like him. trading Cabrera must be undesirable for the Marlins. they do no longer ought to commerce him to get Santana as Santana will be a free agent yet I see Santana going to some large marketplace crew. the priority with the Marlins is they have any such small fan base or genuinely the gross sales on the gate is adverse. it is for this and for most different motives that the Cleveland Indians deserved to win the 1997 international sequence. They and their longsuffering followers were only more desirable worth of a championship crew than a crew with a fan base of in truth 0.

We'll be contender for the Wild Card, but I see em falling just short. I agree, they shouldn't have fired Girardi unless Gonzalez has something special that Girardi doesn't. We have a very good pitching staff and I feel we should sign a veteran and hopefully he can teach the younger players and provide an offensive boost.
Go Marlins!

I think they won't do nearly as well as they did last year. I realize all those youngsters are now a year older and they should improve but I feel like they will have a little pressure to improve so much after a great season. Another big reason is no Joe Girardi. He was a great fit for that group of youngsters and I think they are really going to be missing his leadership and communication ability. Also Dontrelle resigned for just 1 year, so look for them to trade him.

Ozgard is correct. The foolish decision by Florida execs. to fire Girardi has sealed a 3rd or 4th place finish for the fish. They will be swimming upstream all season

If they had kept Joe Girardi I would have thought they would be in the thick of things. Now they're a 3rd or 4th place team.

They will finish above the Nationals if that helps any. But not much further than that.

In any case keep the faith anything can happen.

well they are still a young team although their pitching staff is a good one they simply don't have enough offense to carry them so i would say 3rd or 4th place in the nl east

Fourth place in the NL east because they can't survive off of no veteran players. Even if they do make the playoffs they won't go anywhere because they have no veterans.
