Better - send the bastards who send our people to die, who decide who dies and doesn't, who accelerate the development of more horrendous weapons, who champion genocide for a selfish, idealogical purpose. Let them die.

You mean the good, old fashioned Biblical kind of war? Where all the men were killed, all the women and children were sold into slavery, the cities were destroyed so that not one stone remained on another, the animals were killed, and the land salted so that nothing would ever grow there? Yeah, the good old days. Damned shame they're gone, those people knew how to throw a war.

Why fight when we can make peace? And why stay the same when technology is forever changing? No one should resort to annihilation or even bloodshed, but it's what humans do. The ones in charge can't think of resolving problems in a peaceful, civilized manner. Even if I believe wars are wrong, it's not the middle ages. You wouldn't even know what a computer is if technology and ways of life hadn't changed and is still changing.

I like your idea except would amend it to only the children, wives, husbands and other relatives of the ones who start wars out there in the trenches. The rest of us citizens wouldn't have to give it a whole lot of thought and the results of the wars would impinge only on the morons who start them in the first place.
Laura Evans volunteer for the front lines today.
A heartfelt round of applause for Semper Fi 83 who has been there and done that!

You obviously need to read about the History of Warfare.
For example, in the Third Punic War, the Romans destroyed Carthage. In addition, the Roman in the Jewish Wars killed everyone they could in Jerusalem. In the third Crusade, the Christian knights and solders again killed and raped everyone they could in Jerusalem.
There are other examples, but war has never spared civilians.

I'm a former US Marine, so I feel it's my duty and honor to ask you: Why don't you get back on the USS Enterprise? How can death and violence be made easier? Don't talk about what you don't know about! War Is Hellish! Freedom Is Not Given Freely, but A HUMAN LIFE IS PRICELESS!
