short fat hairy ones,
see how they wiggle and squirm.
chomp off their heads
and suck out the juice
and throw their skins away
everyone wonders how i thrive
on worms three times a day

Nobody loves me Everybody hates me Going to the garden to eat worms Big fat juicy ones Tiny little squiggly ones Watch them wriggle and squirm Bite their heads off Suck their juice out Throw their skins away I don't see how birds can live on Worms three times a day Nobody loves me Everybody hates me Going to the garden to eat worms Long thin slimy ones Short fat juicy ones Gooey, gooey, gooey, gooey, worms Long thin slimy ones slip down easily Short fat juicy ones stick Short fat juicy ones stick between your teeth And the juice goes slurp, slurp, slurp I can't find where it comes from but my mother knew it from Guides in the 1920's! I think it may be a music hall song or perhaps one from one of the Pierrot seaside shows in the early 20th century. Several people seem to think the tune is similar to "Polly Wolly Doodle" - I can't make the words fit, though, lol! It may have been in the film Dr Doolittle, amongst others, but I can't find a reference that says it was for sure!

Delicious worms... mmm...
Perhaps the worms are tasty compared to the bitter taste of being alone?

I read a book cool book once. It was called "How To Eat Fried Worms". If you are gong to eat worms, get this book first..
