I'm babysitting my one-year-old nephew, but I'm unsure of how long to let him nap. When having a child nap, do you wake them up after a certain period of time, or do you let them wake up on their own? Typically how long should a one-year-old nap during the day?

Assuming he's healthy, I'd let him sleep as long as he needs to. Kids tend to be rather active at that age. A one year will get up when they wake up, unlike an adult who wants to lie around in bed. If there's any illness present, I'd regularly monitor him (once every hour or two). Four hours would be the max for me.

I would say no longer than 2 hours. They need their rest, but also letting them sleep to long during the day could confuse their little minds. I would wake him up after two hours. I know my son after waking him was a little snuggle button for about 15 minutes then went off to play.

It depends on whether he is taking one or two naps. If it is 2 then about 1.5 hours for each or if it is just one afternoon nap then I say put him down and let him sleep until he wakes. I usually found that the afternoon nap was about 3 hours. The best time of the day!!

I let my son sleep however long he wants too. They grow so much at that age and need sleep. If he sleeps one hour or sleeps 3 hours he always goes to bed at the same time so that's not an issue. If he gets woken up early on accident (like a dog barking in the same room) he is cranky and moody for the rest of the day.

My 2.5 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous continues to be in a crib, it is quite popular! i ought to proceed to do what you're doing. If she is getting her quiet time in the previous nap, and nonetheless waking up satisfied/properly-rested, it is a good component. i recognize what you propose about feeling to blame about her laying there, yet genuinely maximum little ones go with some on my own/quiet time to unwind. An hour of quiet time (if she would not nod off) is per chance sufficient. My son many times naps 2-2.5 hours, which consists of about a million/2 hour of quiet time formerly.

Let him sleep until he wakes up. His body needs that rest.
