Does your brother drink a lot of caffeinated beverages? Red Bull, Coke, Mt. Dew and coffee, for example, have a lot of caffeine. If you get into the habit of drinking a lot of them, when you don't, you can get wicked headaches. Bad thing is it can keep repeating itself if you feed the caffeine habit.

Does he have allergies? It may be sinus pressure. Sudafed and drinking LOTS of water are good ways to break up any congestion....

A temporary fix may be something like Excedrin migraine. Other than that, he should try to go see a doctor if they keep up.

Poor vision is not a common cause of headaches. Someone should take your brother's blood pressure soon. If that is normal, migraine or cluster headaches are most common. If blood pressure is high, or headaches persist, bite the bullet and see a doctor.

It could be cluster headaches, if they don't last long and come on at approx same time each day... They can last for a couple of weeks, go away and then reappear at any time. Assuming no recent head trauma? Or tension headaches if he is having a tough time at work/home?
If neither then get it checked out if it carries on for more than a couple of weeks

I wouldn't attempt to diagnose him as he truly needs to be seen by a qualified physician. Simply it could be eye strain, but I don't think so. IT could be migraines, but they rarely last 3-4 days. He may fall in the category of cluster headacnhes, and there is help and medication for him. Call your doctor and help him end this pain!
