If we can't understand the reason and have no way of ever understanding the reason then it may as well be pure coincidence.

I believe it. I don't use the word "coincidence" anymore. "Synchronicity" defines it better.
For a person who believes in coincidence, life is all chance and gamble. Opportunities must be snatched at because they don't know when another will show.
For me, nothing in life is accidental. Everything that happens to me happens through my own choice. When I am ready to accept an opportunity, one appears. The ones who believe only in coincidence have obviously not yet discovered that their beliefs design their world.

I believe in coincidences, but I also believe that everything happens for a reason, so does that make sense?

If you read abot Dialectical Materialism you will find out what you are looking for.
I would like to tell you about it but I am not a native speaker to convey the point, but I will try.
Each phenomenon around results from the clash between theses and antitheses;that is,they come into existence for that clash or reason, you can call that clash coincidence, though.

I do. Because coincidences are never coincidences, they have reasons, like running into someone with the same name as you, it might be because it was a greatly publicized name.

Oh, yes, it's true. At first it may not seem so, but as time goes by, you begin to realize that everything does happen for a reason. At least to me! Everything seems to be the way it's supposed to be, I can understand now why certain things happened to me, although I used to hate those things and wished they never had occurred.

I disagree. The bible even says that sometimes things happen by coincidence.
