Some people that draws blood does not know how to do it at all. You should only give them like 2 chances and if they can't draw your blood then ask for someone else. Believe me i have before. Some can get it on the first try but some will keep on poking because they cannot hit a vein right and then they want to blame it on this "Your veins are so little". Ask for a butterfly needle and that should not hurt as much as a bigger needle because the butterfly one is for babies/kids but they do use it on me because really i do have small veins.
Just breathe and relax when you have it done. The person that will draw the blood all they can do or say is it will be okay. If your so stressed out about it get someone to go with you or take a nerve pill beforehand.
Good luck

they are professionals with needles. once you bypass in basically tell them you have an apprehension of needles, you at the instant are not the 1st and could under no circumstances be the final and that they'll probable supply you between the greater matured ones. do basically no longer look, look away. My sister in regulation hates needles and used to throw up everytime they tried to entice blood, yet after having a splash one she's so used to it that now it would not worry her. that's the anticipation that's worse than something. basically breathe deeply via your mouth into your abdomen, and look any opposite direction, OR on the WALL OR regardless of, initiate interpreting between the staff undesirable hair shade pastime, or weight, etc. a number of the techs are so slick you particularly even comprehend the needle went in. And in answer on your question, any stable tech must be waiting to furnish you tips that could maintain you calm. Please do no longer tension, that's in user-friendly terms some seconds of your existence, so do no longer waste hours irritating approximately it.

I am deathly scared of needles and made it through quite a few blood tests! just tell them that you a a little scared, they know what to do! Or ask them to talk you through it! Oh and dont bring anything to squeeze, when you squeeze it, you tense up and makes it more painful! P.S. best to relax and eat something before you go! i almost passed out once! lol

Oh yeah! Do you think that you are the only person scared of needles that they have had to deal with? It's actually part of training for them. Still, maybe take a friend with you just for hand holding purposes.

blood tests take less than 10 seconds.. you don't have to watch.. if you think your going to faint she can have you lie down and take it. Think pleasant thoughts you will be out of the room with a bandaid on your arm within seconds.

don't feel bad i am so afraid of needles that my hands start shaking and they get real clammy. i got my pre natal tests done two days ago i was shaking so bad the lady asked if i thought i was going to pass out. i told her that i would be fine . she was so nice she gave me the job of holding the vials she had to fill trying to distract me. it didn't work but i didn't want to hurt the poor woman's feelings. it never hurts like i think it will then i feel bad for freaking out.try to think about something else. and maybe it will be easier to deal with.

they do a pretty good job of that. if you really are scared, take someone with you so you can squeeze their hand. blood tests dont really hurt though. i used to be scared, but i got used to them, its no biggie!
