What did the Jewish people do to cause this hatred?

Before the Holocaust, Germany was in poverty.

The Jews owned all of the big businesses, and were rolling in riches, most of them at least.

This lead to hatred between the rest of the starving Germans, and the Jews.

On the Night of Broken Glass, Germans burnt down any business belonging to a Jewish man. German business owners had to mark that no Jews worked there in order to ensure a secure building.

Germany was a mess, filled with clashing cultures, poverty, and confusion among the leaderless country.

Hitler seemed a confident and intillectual man, who expressed that the Jews should not own everything, dominate, and leave the rest of Germany to starve. He had plans for the well-being for the country, and everyone was looking for someone to follow. Germany thought Hitler was the best way to turn their condition around, as well as stop the Jews form expanding and taking over businesses.

Most had no idea that Hitler would turn out to be a crazzed over ubsessed brutally evil man, who's idea of getting rid of poverty problems in Germany was to unleash a nightmare of evil and darkness upon the Jewish people and others in Europe.

The holocaust was a terrifyingly horrible nightmare, which shall never be forgotten. It is an example of what can happen when the chaos of clashing groups is mixed with poverty, and hatred.

May God rest the souls of those who lost their lives, and those who lived through the Holocaust.

And may God help, love, and give hope to the souls of the people trapped in genocides today.

They are never alone.

LOL do you know what even Holocaust is ?? It was a planned elimination of an entire race which they very well succeed in. THE REASON BEHIND the unknown forgotten Hindu Holocaust would be cause there is no authentic proof of it happening. Would you believe in Mrs Wendy Doniger book the hindus an alternative history cause she is a well known historian too. And that book demeans the Hindu religion. Second the ancient era was more monarchic in nature and monarchs are expansionist. So I always ask this question WHY NOT ASK WHY A HINDU RULER KILLED HINDUS TO TAKE OVER ANOTHER HINDUS LAND. Best example ASHOKA . So the Muslims rulers were also the same as hindu rulers they killed for land and expansion not religion or race. Why do people forget the Mongols (They were not muslims) who did the same thing as Ahmed shah abdali. Third. According to you source then The biggest holocaust would bot be Hindu holocaust but Holocaust by Europe cause they manged to caputre the entire world killing millions even eliminating some tribes from the face of the planet. What about Alekander the great he was close to capturing the world must have killed millions why do we put a great in his name ?? Fourth How many Hindus there were to begin with ? and killed in what time frame and by whom ? Cause they might have the same religion but people feel and think differently. SADLY WE ALL KEEP CRYING HUE ABOUT PEOPLE DYING FROM THEIR RELIGION. Why do we not see a man, woman or child as a human being ? why do we have the need to divide ? What good does glorifying ones religion or culture get NOTHING BUT DIFFERENCES. A sad sad world we live in. Blinded by religion and no rational thought. We get nothing out of it only misery and only the rich and powerful who pull the strings get everything.

All of Europe didn't "willfully" obey Hitler, but many Germans liked what they heard from him. Firstly, Hitler was a charismatic speaker. I've heard the term hypnotic used to describe him and he was trained in the art of public speaking. Secondly, the Treaty of Versailles, which ended WW I, took a toll on the German economy & morale. If you look at what Hilter did (rebuilding the German army, remilitarizing the Rhineland, etc), he was taking each point of that treaty & snubbing his nose at it. This appealed to the German people. After WW I, many German veterans did not take losing well. This is part of the reason the Weimar Republic did not succeed. These men wanted to fight. The Nazis & their paramilitary wing appealed to these people.

Perhaps if the WW I Allies, Britain and France, had stepped in and stopped Hitler at Czechoslovakia, an all out war could have been averted. If they had made a move to save Poland, the Holocaust certainly could have been avoided. Poland had the largest population of Jews in Europe at close to 2 million. Compare that to 100,000 Jews in Germany.

So why didn't the old Allies of WW I step in to stop Hitler? Probably because they were hoping to avoid another costly war. I believe France & England had reduced the size of their respective armies. And I've been told that France actually had troops in the Rhineland when Hilter moved his troops in, but they did nothing to stop him.

I think if other Eurpean leaders had known about the Final Solution before Hitler starting his power play, they might have taken a stand. However, being anti-Semitic in the early 1900s was not as taboo as it is today. In my WW II class, the professor told us many Europeans were anti-Semitic back then. So Hitler's hatred of Jews did not raise any red flags for other leaders at the time.

Not all people willfully obeyed.

Children were brainwashed and parents were "replaced" with the government's authority. As a child, you would be forced to quit school if you didn't joint the Hitler Youth. Later, young men were "taken" from their families to serve in the military.

Nazi Germany was a police state. Could any of us resist force, threat of death, etc. Remember the USSR - gulags, Siberia! China is no better. Even today, you can find video of executions of those who oppose the government. During the Hungarian Revolution, the Soviets had no qualms about killing the citizenry.

Europe didn't, the Germans did. And the very small proportion who actually was involved in the Holocaust did it because they were convinced of Hitler's ideas. The genocide was not part of everyday propaganda, most Germans didn't even know about it.

Only Germany mind you. And plus, the rest of the world didnt know that he was doing that. Everyone thougth that Hitler told the SS (elite squad responsible) to put them in concentration camps, but not to kill them! Hell, even the U.S. did the same thing with japs... but only concentration camps.

He didn't seem so bad at first-he played up to the people taking care of some old business that was on the mind of the Germans, then he started his inhumane crusade and by then people were afraid of him and his henchmen.

Brainwashing. Hittler thought that jews were to blame so he killed them and so did other millions of his followers. He taught his soliders that jews and others are inferior and they are superior.
