Not a great deal. Toads tend to have a wartier skin, and cannot jump, they tend to walk. But, it is not a biological distinction like a genus.

A toad is a frog, but a different family of what we generally consider a "Frog". Frogs are primarily aquatic, while toads are land dwellers. Much like the difference between turtles and tortoises.

True frogs are in the genus Rana.
True toads are in the genus Bufo.
Frogs are aquatic, and toads usually aren't (some toads in extremely dry climates may have re-adapted to a semi-aquatic existence; all toads go to water during breeding season).

The biggest difference is that frogs need to live near water and toads live away from water (or at least don't need water to survive).
Also:
Frogs:
Have smooth, moist skin that makes them look “slimy”.
Have a narrow body
Have higher, rounder, bulgier eyes
Have longer hind legs
Take long high jumps
Have many predators
Toads:
Have rough, dry, bumpy skin
Have a wider body
Have lower, football shaped eyes
Have shorter, less powerful hind legs
Will run or take small hops rather than jump
Do not have many predators.

frogs are anphibians...they can live in the water if they want to ...
toads are not anphibians...toads do not and cannot live in water....you will find toads in a forest near tree bases....frogs you will find near a body of water, or stream
Size is not factor at all...toads and frogs come in all differant sizes, and size doesn't determine what the animal is.

toads are brown, bumpy and don't live in water. they could visit water and clean themselves off. frogs are green (any shade), live in water; rarely ever have to go up to land to do any thing, and are smooth.
