These sensors are a pig! The tyre can be changed without damaging the sensor , It takes a careful tyre fitter to remove the tyre just at the right spot on the rim.
Good Luck

Later Laguna has a tyre pressure sensor built into the valve and these have to be taken good care of they are a bit fragile. Most national tyre companies are aware of this sensor and they should not damage them when replacing your tyres
The wheel is then fitted to the same place on the car as before or the wrong information is fed to the display. The only way to change the wheel positions is to re-programme the display
Mention it to the tyre company when you go in that all the pressure sensors are functioning OK and that you are aware of the dangers involved in changing the tyres and point out you wish them to take all necessary steps to not damaging them. If they do you will expect them to replace them free of charge

Just mention that the car has tyre pressure sensors to any reputable tyre fitters.
If a tyre fitter damaged the pressure sensor, he (or his company) would be liable for the replacement cost - provided you've made them aware of the issue. If a tyre fitter is unsure, he'll turn down the work rather than take the risk.
I've had new tyres on my Mégane on three separate occasions, and the pressure sensors still work just fine - I told the fitters to be careful, and they were.

It is true. That is modern technology for you. I bet everyone was impressed when the Sales person told every customer about the Air sensing capability, what they forgot to mention was the very high cost when the YTS Tyre Fitter rips the old tyre off and ruins the sensor. This has happen so many times. And is there a real need for this devise in the first place.

renault lagunas use sensors in the tyre valve to monitor tyre pressures. believe me they will cost over £100 pound each to replace. why not talk to your local renault dealer first and see what they suggest??

Every Laguna on the road has this problem! Honestly the best thing you can do is stick a piece of black tape over the display, & ignore it. Go to Kwik-Fit & get them to put normal valves on it. If you want to check the tyre pressures, buy a little guage from Halfords.

Perhaps you could check if the box under the car on the left side (middle of the car) is damaged. There is nothing which protects the receiver enough on bad roads or by driving in a pool of water. See whether the electrical wire is well connected or the box undamaged.
