I have to confess for years I have wrote things in the air.
I do it while I am on my own.
I practice my signature etc.
Is this a sign of mental illness?
Or is it a habit that I have not grown out of-or is it just boredom.

Sensible answers pls

You are definitely normal! I have always wrote things into the air because it helps me to visualize something. Especially if there is no paper and pen lying around. I have a genius guy friend who has always had this "problem" with tracing everything in his head and it must equal out to the number eight. He has done this since we were a freshman in high school, which was like 15 years ago. Lots of people thought he was a mental case, I thought he was super smart. Now, he is the president of a huge insurance company and is only 30. Good luck

It's imagination.

Other people solve their calculus problems in the air. How's that?
Some people think of their options with their hands. Even land developers and owners imagine what their place would be like.

It is not an illness, you just like to do it that way. I imagine my drawings that way, so when I draw there is a better chance of a better drawing. Less erasures.

Try it out anytime, It helps keep your brain in imagining and like the movie "A beautiful mind" you might have a very good use for that thing you do.

well i don't know ANYTHING about phsycology but i'm sure that's just a habit. it's something to do when you're bored. i'm not sure people with illnesses would realize they're sick.
but then again, i wouldn't know.
