Not every teenager. The teenage years are when your hormones are ragging the most and some teens act out on it by having sex.

There is a group of teenagers rushing to have sex, because they do not know any better. Parents are forced to work to support their families, and once children are old enough to be left home alone without supervision, parents and teenagers do not spend enough time together. Parents are not there to teach their teenagers about healthy relationships, teach them that their bodies are sacred, teach them the values and morals that older generations have passed on for centuarys. Instead we let our children be raised by Television and Magizines, do not blame media for teenagesr rushing out to have sex, if they had access to responsible role models for behaviour in their own homes & communties, they wouldnt be forced to learn about things from television.
In this response I am talking about casual sexual realtionships, the sex buddies, and sex games being played in highschools around the world. This is not about sex before marriage, nor is it about sex between two teenagers who are in love for the first time, in a respectful relationship.

In school mosty kids talk about sex and it had definitely become a norm.It is no longer a big deal and most kids do it.I think it is patially due to hormones and part due to our great curiosity but mostly because everyone hears everyone else talking about it and they think that if they arent doing it then they arent cool or popular.I personally made a decision when I was younger to stay a virgin until I was married and so far it has worked. Its not easy but I think it is a thing that I should do and it shows how much you truly love one person when you can give it to them and how responsible of a person you are.I think my peeers have become to irresponsible and they have to still learn that having sex wont make them any better of a person.

Hormones can't be blamed for everything. Look at all their influences, tv, music, video games... 50% live w/1 parent who dates (some kids have lots of "uncles/aunts" that only hang out w/mom/dad.
Peer pressure, if "everyone else is doing it..."
I put the blame on the parents. Everyone wants to be their kids' friend now! Being a parent is hard, your teens hate you for a few years. So what!! Until 18 I will check all emails, texts, cell calls, drive by to see who their with & where. Whatever it takes!

I had this discussion with my young daughters a couple of hours ago! My 12 year old says all her friends talk about is boys! 12! I think they see so much on tv these days. They dont realize how important it is to wait and to get educated. I think alot of the stuff that they eat, hormones in meats, etc. is rushing the hormones to raging too young!

Because no one is telling them they shouldn't nor how disastrous the consequences. The schools hand out condoms "because they're going to do it anyway" and parents throw up their hands in resignation. And when teens see their own single parents bringing partners home for the night, they learn just what their parent's values are, no matter what they say.
And hey, sex is fun! But when the morning after brings bitter regrets, STDs, HIV, Herpes, pregnancy and the label of 'easy' or 'player', it ain't so much fun anymore, is it?
Teen pregnancy is still ridiculously high in spite of condoms. "Fact: One million teens in the USA will become pregnant over the next twelve months. Ninety-five percent of those pregnancies are unintended." See: http://www.coolnurse.com/teen_pregnancy_rates.htm

Same reason why adults have sex. They want to. It feels good. Its exciting. The only thing that is wrong with teens having sex, is lack of information, access to contraceptives. Grown up can be just as irresponsible, and emotionally immature toward sex, you just don’t hear about it because its more socially acceptable, and the access to contraceptives it greatly increased so less “problems” come from it.

Because at that age they don't see the bigger and better picture. They don't have the maturity to see the potential of a human relationship grounded in marriage and family. It's all just a physical attraction game, one of satisfaction and gratification, reinforced by TV and Hollywood.
