The industrial revolution was already well underway before the time of Thomas Edison.

You might say that electricity helped spread the industrial revolution but that would be more to the credit of Nicoli Tesla and alternating current. Edison fought against Tesla (who once worked for Edison) and tried to push direct current and that was the wrong direction. Clearly the light bulb helped to more easily extend the work day, but it needed the alternating electric current to make it feasible.

I would give the credit for lighting the world to Tesla.

Thomas Edison's inventions helped the industrial revolution by with his invention of the light bulb created the ability for night and day shifts, helping factories increase production and it helped today;s society because without the light bulb we would be on the dark.

Thomas Edison's invention of the light bulb helped because we were able to produce light without flame, making less accidental fires, and it brought us out of the dark, made us able to see farhter at night than a candle.

Well considering that thomas Eddison invented the flouresent lightbulb i would say that he provided the light of our world and many other useful inventions i would say he was very very important

He improved the florescent lightbulb and made it the standard source of light in all homes.
