I am sure that he/she is hurting and you being there to just listen will help more than you know. Also try to get him/her to go out and do something with you to get their mind off it for a while. You sound like a caring friend.Good luck.

Just be there to listen to him or her and tell them that they will meet many losers who will do that before they find the one person who loves them enough to be there for them, so the faster we dump or are dumped, the sooner we meet the right person!!

listen, be available, but understand that nothing you say or do will help the healing process. it's a character building experience for the dumped that they have to go through on their own. all you can do is listen and be patient. encourage them to stay true to themselves and carry on with respect for themselves - and remind them that it's human nature to want something more when we can't have it, and to be aware of that fact.

I think you should talk to your friend see how hurt they are because you are gonna tell them to move on but what if there not ready don't just help them get into a relationship make sure that they are healed before you send them off on a new relationship.

Just listen to your friend, be there and let them cry, or whatever they need to do to get over this terrible ordeal. It's good they have a friend like you that wants to help!!!

my friend was engaged...well this ended up not happening. she got really mad and started tearing up pictures of them and throwing stuff that he got her..well not breakable stuff, I honestly just let her go off for a little bit and then I started tearing the pics up with her...she kind of stopped and looked at me like I was nuts but stopped crying and started laughing and then realized how big of a mess she made...honestly let your friend vent and then make them laugh!

Allow her to cry on your shoulder when she needs to. Also, help her to see all the great qualities that she has to offer a guy out there who will deserve her and who will cherish her for all her great qualities.
