There is a common thought that only the score cards judge wheteher a student is intelligent or average or poor, I want this thought to be eradicated and make people understand that everyone has his own talent, interests and its not just the mere marks or grades that can judge an individual. How manyof you believe that a student who fails in every subject has a talent with him? How many Budding Kalams and Hussains are spoiled at the buds because they dont have grades and develop an inferiority and all such kind of related problems? How can we find a solution for this? How are we gonna find out the talent that rests in every kid? Will it require a change in our Entire Educational System? How can you judge a student with his answer sheets? Is it meant for search of his talent or a test of His Memory?

I don't have a clue how to make the rest of the world make this change. I went through high school barely passing my classes, so going into college would have been a waste of time for me at that time.
10 years later i decided to enter college, and there was marked improvement. I carried a 3.65 GPA throughout college. I didn't change my study habits over what they were in high school, but i had the attitude that just because a professor had a degree and i had yet to earn mine, i just told my professors, that yeah all the degree means is a person sat in a chair and put up with lectures for 4 years and retained enough information to pass exams and obtain the degree.

I've known some really dump professors in my time.

It has been more than 50 years since India got its independence. Initially the emphasis was to provide most Indians with the basic educational skills. Gradually more schools in other specialized sectors opened up to meet the needs of business and soceity as a whole. The emphasis still may have been more on academic qualification. Practical skills training costs a lot more.

Today there is a need for schools that would provide vocational guidance, counselling as well as training.

The governments at all levels have to understand that the educational needs of people who have a certain type of handicap or disability is just as great for independence and survival. The more they realize this, the lesser of a burden these people will be on the government & society and can enjoy a life with pride.

It is the responsibility of the highly intellectual people to find ways to improve the lot of the common man. There are people with different skill levels that vocational guidance can assit in finding and utilizing. Some people are good in academics, others have better manual dexterity, some are good in arts like painting, handcrafts, sculpture and others in music etc. to name a few items.

A society is like a blend of different flowers in a garden - the more variety the merrier it is. With compassion we can make it a better place to live - for all - the winners as well the losers. After all everyone does excel in something or falls in love with some form of occupation.

Sorry Dude. Its not about holding a degree or not. Its the intellectual which is required. Not all those who do IIT are brain enough, There are thousands of Dumb. But your point is definitely one that should be though about.

I do agree due to advent of call centers and other easy jobs barely holding degree has become a fashion. There should be a definite change in the trend and higher education should be made compulsory.

Good question by the way!
