He was on the plane ... otherwise we'd have to believe that Rose was also in on it.
And then they'd have to explain how Bernard ended up in one of the airline seats, strapped in, and in a tree.
But I do think that there were people on the plane who have some sort of affiliation with the Hanso Foundation and/or Dharma. We'll see someone in one of the next episodes that we haven't seen since Season 2.
Only 11 days left!!
Oh, and I don't think Kate has really chosen Sawyer. I think she loves Jack and will choose him if she gets the chance...

We haven't seen Bernard and Rose since last season so who knows anything is possible on Lost.
By the way where did all these new people come from. Like that girl who used to be on Related?
I still can't beleive Kate chose Sawyer over Jack. I guess we have all been stupid at one time or another.

How, we have seen him in flashbacks with Rose and Rose tells Jack that he is in the rear of the plane going to the restroom just before the crash.
