Autism is effectively a developmental disability. An autistic person will have significant difficulties in several areas of his/her development. The areas most affected are communication, social interaction and behaviour. This developmental disability may have a particular pattern called autism, or there may be varying amounts of disability in other areas of development which result in patterns called Asperger's syndrome or Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified (PDD - NOS). This whole area of autistic developmental disabilities is referred to as "autism spectrum disorders". People with these disorders are affected differently, but all require specialised assistance and support.

they baisicly live in their own little world
The first thing that must be realized is that as of now, there is no known cure for autism.

No there is no cure.

I do not think we know enough about it!! People in public are still very mean with those who have it or those with a autistic person within the group. Public schools in general our not educated enough to deal with these kids.
My youngest is high functioning autistic. This means he has autism but not as sever as others. He is disabled, has to have special classes at school and home life we are used to it but family have a hard time. Friends our not many but the friends my child has the parents have a hard time with him. Some parents will not let there children be friends with my child.

He is different but hey I love different :0)

I wished there was a test like the one above when my child was little!! His score was 194, but we already know he has problems....I thought my son was "different" from all the seizures he has had in his lifetime.....Never new it was autism until he was 8-9 years old.

Most people that have autism don't understand jokes or humor. also, they, flap, spin and run in circles. Most have no social skills. It's also genetic. no cure. Parents should buy special toys like Slinky's, fidgets toys etc/etc to help them.
here is a test below but for pdd
