The one I have now was about $1200, but it's king sized, pillow-topped and VERY sturdy as my husband is a big moosey football player looking sort of a guy... 6ft 1in and 285lbs.
Before we were married I had a full set that was about $500....
In poorer times I just got the cheapest thing I could get and put a foam eggcrate mattress topper on it to avoid springs poking me and to just add to the cushiony feel (they're about $20 at WalMart)

Too dang much! I was so suckered by the salesperson. I ended up getting a Sealy pillowtop queen size mattress and spend $700 on it after taxes. From the moment it was delivered, I had buyer's remorse. And to make matters worse, it's not even comfortable!

It doesn't matter how much you pay...just make sure you try it out before buying.
We prefer genuine FOAM mattresses because of our backs.
Also, they're easier to LIFT when you want to move.

I'll spend alot of time on a mattress sleeping and . . .A good mattress is very important to me.

probably about 1000 for a king size mattress and box spring...that's one thing i refuse to go cheap on

I just bought a new one two days ago. The brand name is Melrose or something like that and I paid $300 for it and it's for a Queen size bed. Why did you get ripped off?
