the problem is with your bios settings. the power button is set to Sleep/Suspend mode. You should set it to On/Off. This should work. There was no need to change your motherboard for this. Should`ve asked sooner. :-)

Try shorting across the two switch pins on the m/b to eliminate the power button as the problem. Then if that is not the problem look on the back of the power supply and with the computer unplugged switch the position of the voltage to the high voltage side and then back to the low voltage side. This resets some switched power supplys. If that doesnt work most likely is the ps.

If you have a working mouse i.e. the light is working, it cannot be your power supply, it sounds more like the fan on your processor has failed, the processor has overheated and blown. Sounds like you've bought a new motherboard without checking out the symptoms. Never mind - with computers, always upgrading seems to be the natural norm!!!

If you've got nothing on the monitor at all it's probably CPU or memory, possibly graphics card or even the monitor. Power supply is unlikely and it won't be the BIOS since you changed that when you changed the mother board. Either replace each in turn until it works or take it to a computer shop.

Sounds like you need a new power supply. You should buy a PSU. It's lots cheaper than a motherboard and much easier to replace. newegg.com is a very affordable source. You might as well upgrade your PSU while your at it.

I don't know what the prob is, but mine does the same thing. Generally I leave my PC on as they are made to be left on. If I do give it a rest, I switch it off at the power source and back on again, the on/off button works!

it sounds like the power supply is faulty, i dont think anything was wrong with the mobo. you should never turn it off with the button, you should always turn off via the start button and then shut off

It does'nt matter how you turn the power off.
If you turned the power off and your mouse kept on working you better call Rentokill.

i have no idea what to do but i can save you money fixing it, ring your local college and see if they do pc maintenance and repair classes there if so they most likely will be needing computers to repair, the students are talked through the repairs by the lecturer so if it can be repaired it will be at little or no charge it will be at least £40 if you take it to a shop

Could it be that the fan and the mouse are not connected to the motherboard. Or, that the wire connections are incorrect.
