Visitors by Bob Chapman. I think this is better than Harry Potter although I'll get thumbs down for saying so. But try it yourself

Based on loving stuff about girly stuff and chicken soup, go check out "The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants" series. I read the first two and they were awesome! They are about 4 girls who discover magical pants and grow up over a summer together, but apart.

Also, Go Ask Alice/Alice, I Think series are very interesting as well! They are about a girl who is homeschooled and a "social retard" and all of her adventures of her trying to grow up as a normal girl in an abnormal house.

Well have you tried the Artimus Fowl series, or the Bartimus Triology?

You could try the Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot, The Clique series by Lisi Harrison, or The Gossip Girls series by Cecily von Ziegesar.

Try going to Amazon.com where you can peak inside almost every title and where you can search books by subject.
