I have been to London a few times and I went to the Hippodrome back in the mid 90's. I though it was really great. The music was very different. I was told though that it was too touristy, but all the people I met there were English. Very crowded too. I saw a fight where a guy on the dance floor hit another guy over the head with a beer bottle. I have been to pubs over there. It seemed a bit classier crowd than the bars I go to here in the states. Many old men would go and you could have a nice conversation with them , but I did not see to many girls or women.
how is it now? what are the usual happenings if you go to a pub or club? Is it still the usual for most people?

You seemed surprised that people in the London hippodrome were English, didn't you realise that London is the capital city of England? Who did you expect to be in there? I think you should be checked out by a doctor before you go to an English pub again, or even anywhere outside of your asylum, as your medication is, obviously, in need of a review. This is Enlgand, what were you expecting from a nation that once had an Empire spanning 3/4 of the globe? We didn't get it by tiddly-winking people out of their country, and then when we had the country we didn't keep it by having nice conversations. It did us little good however,and we don't have a lot to be proud of, but the fact remains.... we're not nice, and we do fight a lot. No.one likes us - we don't care!

Pubs are still nice and they can have a very special 'olde worlde' atmosphere. Women still do not frequent them as much as Men (especially if they are on their own) but you can still meet lots of interesting old guys with good stories to tell.

you must have been in the bar,because that's where all the men go, to have a chat about whatever,if you were in the lounge you would have seen a lot of women and girls.
