As a Sens fan, it pains me to agree with that Leafs fan above. The only thing more annoying than Rick Jeanneret is the bandwagon Sabres fans ... where were you when the Sabres had a losing record? Thats right, it was the hockey fans from Toronto and Hamilton helping you keep your team by filling the arena.

Rick Jeanneret is by far one of the most annoying commentators there are in professional hockey. While Rick knows his Sabres hockey, his lack of enthusiasm for anything that isn't in favor of the Sabres is sickening. At least show some passion when another team scores, not this monotone crap and whinning like a little baby.

Why do we listen to it, uhhhh duhrrhhrh (as you guys put it so nicely) ... we have to.

The announces are paid by the teams they announce. Rick Jennerette is the play by play announcer for the Sabre's and regarded as one of the best hockey broadcasters today(if not the best). He has been calling Sabre's games since the early 70's first on the radio and now on TV and the radio. Your biggest problem is that your a Rangers fan and when you pay 1/2 your teams payroll to 2 or 3 players you cant win! The Sabre's, Preds and Ducks are teams that have depth, that's why the are so far ahead of the Rangers. Lose Jagr or Shanahan and you have no chance. The Sabre's most skilled player (Tim Connolly) hasn't played yet this season. The Sabre's lost in the playoffs last year because they only had 2 defenseman left of their 6 starters and 1 was a rookie. Ive watched most of the Sabre's games and think your wrong, yesterdays game was poorly refed and the color man (Jim Lorentz) stated so but said calls were missed against both teams.

Rick Jeanerette and Jim Lorenz. Rick is the loud, easily excitable one, and J-Lo is the guy who offers his insight once in a while. Personally, I think Rick is great, and he certainly makes sure you know what's happening when you're not intently watching the game. I don't understand what you expect from the Sabres' commentators on the Sabres' show for a Sabres' game other than favoritism of the Sabres. They are not biased in the least, but I assume you haven't seen enough of the games to make a real judgment. If a call should have been made against the Sabres or was incorrectly called against the other team, he'll always point it out. I don't know what the Rangers commentators are like, but I can't imagine it's that thrilling to watch a game there, between having what sounds like bland commentary as well as a team that'll be watching the playoffs from their couches.

Rick Jeanneret is a broadcasting legend, and you should show some respect. His partner, Jim Lorentz, is a retired Sabres forward. It's not Buffalo's fault that your home announcers suck. I would personally get bored listening to or watching a home game of any team if the home announcers were not into the game and rooting for their team. I don't see how the perceived quality of the Sabres broadcast team has anything to do with how the team is going to do in the playoffs, but then again what do I know, I'm just a Sabres fan and a female, teenage Sabres fan at that. Have fun with your "superior" broadcast team and your lack of playoffs (because last I checked, ninth place didn't cut it). You have a nice day now, sweetie :-)

Hate it, no. But I do think its quite stupid. The game rooms sure do look nice, but whats the point...Just standing in a area that looks like a game you own? Sure you can launch some games, but when are all games going to get this? And I hate that you have to wait for the arcade games. If I wanted to stand around and wait for someone to get done playing pool, and HOPE they let me get the table when they are done, I'll just go to a real pool hall, or real bowling alley, or a Dave & Busters. The "clothes" and "furniture" are ridiculously over priced. And the avatar character options are severely lacking. And to all the have responded "But its a beta, it isn't finished, they are going to add more stuff", I guess you all have forgotten just how long Home has been in the beta stage. If I remember correctly Home has been in development since early 2005, and the open beta we have now started in Dec. 08. Its now Jul. 09. Over 4 years of development, and the feature is still anemic at best. Get real and stop pulling the wool over your eyes!!

No, regional (home team) telecasts tend to have announcers that favor the home team, while national broadcasts (unless you're Don Cherry) are neutral. If the Rangers play-by-play and color commentator are neutral, I'd say the Rangers aren't paying them enough to care.

And, if you actually watch a Sabres game, you'd see the refs let too much go. Especially the hooking and cross-checking.

Be lucky you get to watch home games. Im a blackhawk fan and the president(Peter Wirtz) wont even allow home games on T.V. So i would rather have annoying announcers for homegames then no home games

Never watched and now I am GLAD I never have. Used to listen to Mike Lang call games, now that he is only on the radio I can't because I am not in Pittsburgh or getting their games. He could call a game. Yeah he also did have his color and had his bias BUT he called it even. Heck even now with Stagie in the booth it is still even calls on TV. Watched the game yesterday and that goal in the third, before I had to head to work, and they called it for what it was. A great goal.
