She sounds like a real jerk. Like Wendy's is going to start calling her all the time, LOL! Any friend that would do something like that to you is NOT a friend. Forget her! She sounds like nothing but trouble, and she also sounds a little unbalanced.

OUCH!! What a sucky friend. If she gave her permission for you to use her as a reference for a job search then she has no right to be upset that you gave her number. She is not a true friend and if i were you I would not talk to her any more and also I would redo my resume with good references that you trust will be good to you when potential employers call..It is not her decision to make who you give your resume to. She's mad Wendy's called oh well she should have never given permission to be used as a reference.
GOOD LUCK ON THE JOB HUNT BY THE WAY

Your friend needs to be more understanding! Why is she mad at you as you gave her a heads up! Sounds like she's taking her problems out on you and she's the one who's wrong, not you.
What more could you have done as you asked her if it was ok to have her as a reference. As far as giving you a bad reference, that's uncalled for, she just took away your job opportunity. I would have a talk with her and let her know how you feel and that you can longer trust her as friend . Remember, what goes around comes around! Good Luck.

well this sounds so bad, she told you it was ok in the first place if she had a change of mind she should have told you before you use her number, I guess you should let her know its hurting you and you dont use her as a reference again, work things out and put it behind you and move on. you will be ok just pray.

What kind of friend is she....seasonal like your job.
A friend should be supportive of you trying to better yourself.
Maybe she was having a sour day, try talking to her and tell her that you didn't realize that this would upset her. You thought that by asking her if you could add her as a reference, that it would be a strong and stable thing....like your friendship.
I would carefully listen to her response....if it is still negative I would second guess your friendship.
It might be time to move on.....from her.
Best wishes

no. I wouldn't talk to her ever again, I think there is more to this story then you are giving out. It really isn't good to give out friends for job references either in case something like this happens, better to go with members of your church past co-workers, past employers but I guess you figured that out the hard way. Sorry.

I think shes just over reacting. If shes gonna continue feeling this way about you, just forget about her. A real friend wouldn't care. So i guess shes not a good friend.

Dump her!! She is no friend to you. Sounds like a selfish brat. Take her off your references and put someone else.
