Personally, I feel that medication for just about anything, is far too easily handed out like candy. I had a client who was put on prozac because he was "shy" & it made him so agitated & angry he felt worse than before. Being shy had ALWAYS been part of him. I suggested he get off it, (he did), & learn to live with his "personality." Unless you have a truly psychological problem, stay away from therapists. THEY CAN DO ONE MORE HARM THAN GOOD. As for avoiding some people, well, I do that too! & my life is the better for it. I suspect you'll find your answer in yourself.

Well, is your phobia causing you distress in your life? Is avoidance of some people necessarily a negative? I would first try and answer these questions before I sought treatment, as the answers may well provide the best course of action for you to take. Good luck to you...

Since phobias are a result of a psychological disorder, why would you want a solution that does not involve either medication or therapy? That's why those things exist. A solution that does not involve either of those would be a collossal waste of time. If you actually care about your condition, you'll stop making rules about what treatments meet with your approval.

that's difficult....... that's half the human race you're talking about.
try spending more time with those that you're not avoiding.
but i think that therapy would help, but always remember that whatever happens , that there are people out there that cares and that there are people that loves you, they may not be the same people , but they exsit and you're not alone.
and God loves you.
God bless,

It isn't a phobia, it's a result of focusing on self.

you should meet with a psychologist. They're trained for a reason.
