No. Neither is social science. They may study things, and they may make predictions about things, but their predictions are so often wrong, and there's no good way to do an experiment where you can control your variables anyway (people have this thing called "free will" which makes any scientific experiment impossible to do).
That doesn't mean that good work isn't done in those fields. Good work, good research are done in those fields. It just doesn't fall under the realm of science. That's not a positive or a negative, it's just the way things are.

Not many people doubt Global Warming exists, but to say it's man-made is to ignore even the most basic logic available. It used to be much warmer than it is today, as soon as a few hundred years ago. England used to have widespread vineyards all over the place, and we've discovered old settlements in Greenland where crops were being grown on what is now permafrost. All of the planets in the solar system are currently warming. We're seeing melting of the Martian icecaps, and atmospheric venting from a few of Jupiter's moons. This is a sun cycle, and it too shall pass. Cleaning up the planet is always a good idea, but global warming is just scientific sensationalism that is making a lot of people VERY rich.

It depends on your definition of "real science". It is a social science so it does not have the rigourous basis or solid conclusions of physical science, so in that sense no. However, it IS a study of a phenomenon, so in that sense it is a science.

hell yeah it is! You don't have to be stuck in some lame lab wearing some stupid white coat to be a scientist...poli sci majors kick ***- there the coolest people. They can discuss real world issues in a logical manner. In other science majors you may learn how to juice up a rat w/ steroids...but take the scientist outside of the lab and they're the most socially inept people you'll ever meet!
