I've found that the best way to "get past" a phobia is to confront it. This is NOT an easy process, & takes courage & determination. I've no idea how your phobia impacts your life, but obviously enough for you to have asked this question. If you're able to "associate" your phobia with your life experiences, you've got a good start. The severity of it has lots to do with how you "confront" it. Say, you're afarid of heights, for example. REALLY afraid. If you confront that "phobia" it's best if someone is with you. Phobias are such nasty little green demons--if you can get to the root of them, you CAN get rid of them. Wish you'd given more details. Bottom line, address them, confront them, & win.

Successive approximations are probably one of the most helpful ways.
For instance, if a client has a phobia of snakes:
1. Show the client some pictures of a snake.
2. Talk to the client about snakes.
3. Bring in some plastic snakes that feel real and have the client just look at them.
4. Have the client touch the plastic snakes and handle them.
5. Bring in a real snake (non-poisonous) in a cage and have the client watch it.
6. Talk to the client about the type of snake that was brought in and facts all about the snake.
7. Have a person take the snake out of the cage while the patient is still watching.
8. Have the patient touch the snake with one finger (while the other person is still holding it).
9. Have the patient pet the snake (while the other person is still holding it).
** By this time, the patient should be cured **
10. (Bonus) Have the patient hold the snake.
Note: These steps do not necessarily come fast, they make take some time between each.

It depends on how severe the phobia is. If it does not affect your daily life, you can use approximation. Here's an example: You have a snake phobia - start with just looking at pictures of snakes, progress to toy snakes, look at a live snake from a distance, etc., etc. until you can actually stand in front of a real snake without fear.
If you have a phobia that affects your life style such as fear of going outside, fear of people and such, then it would be best to find a therapist who is experienced in helping people to deal with phobias.

There are several ways of getting past a phobia but you need a psychologist's or psychiatrist's guidance. There is the systematic desensitisation.the in vivo systematic desensitisation, the prolonged exposure therapy(and some others)and supplementary, medicines as antidepressants. But the general idea of all these therapies is that you get past a fear(phobia)by confronting it.But all I told you its just theoryYou cant do this by yourself you must get help by a specialist.

The best way is to talk to a psychologist or a some type of specialist that deals with phobias. They can help you get to the root of your phobia and help finds ways that you can conquer it. It can take awhile but I am sure you can do it. Good luck!

It depends on what your phobia is because only then you can overcome it, if you pursue it like you've never done in your lifetime. If you're clausterphobic, you ask someone for assistance and tell them to lock you in a small area for two minutes. You repeat this process until you feel less afraid and until you feel like you're cured.

like the first guy said-drugs.
if it doesn't work then use a spell. [it really worked 4 all my friends]
here a good one:
u need a candlestick, lighter, rosewater, ballpoint pen [any colour], and something to catch the wax.
crave the name of what ur scared of onto the top of the candle. place candle on thingy that catches the wax. put some rosewater by the wick, just about a drop or two.
light candle and say: fear begone! i'm tired of u. keep chanting that in ur mind until the wax melts the word of what ur scared of away. then u won't be scared anymore!
