I have really horrible and morbid nightmares almost every night. Like murders, me being raped, killed, kidnapped, chased, etc. Does this mean something? Is it of a subconscious significance? Or just a coincidence? Thank you!

I've also been having really bad violent and morbid nightmares for the past couple of months. And not just me being hurt or killed, but other people too. Maybe it's not just me...

You must visit a psychiatrist. You maybe think that it cant be that bad and it's just temporary but it can be a start or a symptom of a psychologic disturbance.Do not take this wrong.I am a psychology student and that is what its says in ICD-10.The doctor possible prescript you medicine like body drugs or antidepressants. The only subconscious significance is that you have great anxiety and the only way to get over it is to VISIT A DOCTOR and ask for his help.I am not joking! It can be serious.but also dont be afraid because I am sure you'll get over it.Its nothing untreatable..

this happens to me every night! I had a dream...and I'm not joking... that a man cut off my feet and painted my toenails letting the blood drip on me... MORBID! lol, anyways I found that it gets better if you talk to people about the dreams. That way they don't build up. Also don't watch scary movies, I still have nightmares about movies I've seen 5 years ago. I don't think that it means anything but you could have some stress in your life. Dreams are just a way to release your pent up stress. Hope this helped. :]

Such type of thinking or dreams are generally linked with ones daily routine. It seems either you are reading horror Novels /stories/ books or viewing movies based on such horrifying stories. Another reason may be you might have seen or experienced such cruel behaviour from very close quarters. It does not mean anything. You please stop all the activities mentioned above and start practicing meditation/Yoga , and you will see the difference.

In order for it to be a 'coincidence' it would have to be coincidental with something. So, no. It's not a coincidence. It is your subconscious producing images and thoughts of things you fear. These are called 'anxiety' dreams, and are terribly commonplace.

All these refect your life style. If you see horror scenes just before you go to bed you are likely to get such nightmares. So do not read such books or watch such movies.
Keep a calm and cool mind before you go to bed.Practicing breathing is good I mean "pranayama".
What is stored in sub conscious might appear in dreams!

I hope its just a coincidence. Stay off scary movies and purchase yourself some protection if you think it might help.

You could be anxious or stressed in your waking life. Also be careful what you watch on tv before bed- oh and avoid eating too close to bedtime.
