With all the caring & reinforcement you may have, it's sometimes necessary to "pull yourself up by the bootstraps." The expression may sound "hokey" but has wisdom in it. To infer that you can ONLY do this by yourself isn't very sound. We all need help, sometimes. Yet, our greatest (bottom line) strength is in ourselves. Welcome input, be selective, be true to yourself. But always remember that it's possible to have higher expectations of ourselves than are possible. Do the best you can. That's all anyone can do!

I hate that saying! We all need a little help sometimes. People who say that have no idea about walking in another's shoes. Being compassionate and nonjudgmental seems to be frowned upon these days...sad.
