My dog unlike my children has never learned how to take care of himself when we’re away despite the fact that we’ve given him plenty of time to do so. We don’t have to worry about our grown children anymore. However we still have to hire a dog sitter for him.

Do your own homework. Think it out. What is in the paragraph that shows you that you can believe the opening sentence. If a friend said to you "That teacher is mean", you have nothing to support it. If the friend says "That teacher is mean because she yelled at me when I asked a question and ignored another kid with their hand raised," then you have something to support "mean teacher".
