Well, if it irritates your eyes, you probably shouldn't do it. Use a hypoallergenic eyeliner-that should help, don't use someone elses eyeliner (mucous membranes easy way to get someone else's germs). Make sure no one else uses your eyeliner.Keep it capped, when it's in your purse. The pharohs in Egypt started this-make-up is much safer now than it was then. just make sure you don't stab yourself in the eye!!

Yes it does. Applying the eyeliner on the outside of the lashes it insinuates your eyes more. And placing the eyeliner on inside of your eye is a bad idea, because it will run (if you use a good brand) and you'll be walking around looking like a raccoon. And depending what eyeliner you use you can irritate your eye.

I suppose you're talking abt your lower lashes. Yes, lining them (esp. with black) is very sexy....gives your face a mysterious look. But I'm not sure you should use eyeliner for that, either liquid or pencil...that's basically for regular skin. You get something called 'kajal' as we say in India. That's what we use on the inside of our lower lashes.

Westerners refer to it as 'kohl'....so look for something that expressly states kohl. There are many brands available. I don't know if there are any actual product differences between kohl & eyeliners, that makes kohl safer, but I still have separate ones. Why take a chance?

I don't know if these brands are available wherever you are, coz they're Indian, but get your hands on them if possible....kohl / kajal by Lakme or by Shahnaz Hussain (she's a herbal beauty expert...all her products are good).

I wouldn't recommend it.
Do not line the inside rim of the lids, between the lash and the eye itself; it is messy and can be unhealthy for the cornea.

I've heard that applying eyeliner (liquid or pencil) to the inner rims of your eyes could lead to an eye infection.

I do this every day and have never had any problems. Just make sure that you use a soft eyeliner pencil (I use Rimmel kajal pencil). As this isn't as rough on your eyes.

if you are prone to stys, then that means the oil glands in your eyelid get clogged easily. i am prone to them, so i wouldn't recommend it. as long as you remove the makeup every night, i don't see why not. just be careful.
