FG is basically any shot a player takes on a the floor (except free throws).
So if a player took 10 shots and scored 5 times, we would say he's FG is 5/10 of a FG% of .500

fg= egauls field goal.... a field goal is just a shot.... its basically saying insted of "he made 5 outta 10 shots" its he made 5 outta 10 field goals
